Van Morrison’s Moondance returns on 180g 45 RPM vinyl 2LP as part of the Analogue Productions Acoustic Sounds 40 Series. This edition features lacquers cut by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab, pressing at Quality Record Pressings, and a Stoughton Printing tip-on gatefold double-pocket jacket.
Released in 1970, Moondance blends rhythm and blues, soul, jazz, pop and Irish folk influences with songs of romantic love and renewal. From the title track’s easy swing to “Crazy Love” and “Into the Mystic,” the album offers a richly melodic listening session across four sides of vinyl.

About the album
Recorded at New York City’s A & R Studios in August and September 1969, Moondance followed Astral Weeks with more formally structured songs and a lively rhythm-and-blues/rock approach. The album helped establish Morrison as a major recording artist, with several songs becoming staples of early-1970s FM radio. It is listed at No. 120 in the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums ranking cited for this release.
