UHQR, UltraDisc One-Step & 1Step Vinyl

This collection brings together vinyl's most premium pressing programs, each distinguished in different ways. Mobile Fidelity's UltraDisc One-Step (UD1S) and Impex's 1STEP releases use a "one-step" plating process — cutting the stamper directly from the lacquer instead of the usual three-step method — which skips a generation of loss for a quieter, more transparent groove, though it limits how many copies can be pressed from a single lacquer. Analogue Productions' UHQR (Ultra High Quality Record) takes a different path to the same goal: each is pressed on ultra-quiet, carbon-free Clarity Vinyl with a perfectly flat groove profile (rather than the slight taper of a standard pressing), sourced from the original master tapes and hand-pressed at Quality Record Pressings with an extended cooling cycle to minimize warping. Both approaches are extremely limited, often individually numbered, and rarely repressed — once a title sells out, it's usually gone for good.
