Dire Straits – Communiqué Hybrid SACD
Rediscover Dire Straits’ Communiqué, the band’s nine-track 1979 album, on a numbered Hybrid SACD from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. Mastered from the original master tapes, this audiophile edition brings Mark Knopfler’s distinctive guitar textures, understated vocals, and the group’s relaxed blues-rock arrangements to the forefront.
Recorded in the Bahamas with Barry Beckett and Jerry Wexler, Communiqué balances vivid storytelling with an unhurried groove. From the atmospheric “Once Upon a Time in the West” and sharp, melodic “Lady Writer” to the peaceful closing track “Follow Me Home,” it rewards a focused listen from start to finish.
