The Young Rascals’ Groovin’ blends soul, garage rock and melodic pop on this Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab mono hybrid SACD. Mastered from the original monaural master tapes, this Original Master Recording edition is limited to 2,500 numbered copies and includes the bonus track “A Beautiful Morning.”
The 1967 album features three Top 10 singles and highlights the band’s range, from the exuberant horns and piano of “A Girl Like You” to Eddie Brigati’s lead vocal on the waltzing “How Can I Be Sure.” The title track’s easygoing melody makes a natural centerpiece for a relaxed listening session.
This edition adds “A Beautiful Morning,” the million-selling 1968 single that reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the first release under the band’s shortened Rascals name.
