Hear The Butterfield Blues Band’s East-West in its original mono mix on Mobile Fidelity’s numbered hybrid mono SACD. Strictly limited to 2,500 numbered copies, this edition of the 1966 blues-rock album is sourced from the original analog master tapes and housed in a mini-LP-style gatefold package.
Recorded at Chicago’s Chess Studios, East-West brings Paul Butterfield’s harmonica and vocals together with the guitars of Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop, Mark Naftalin’s keyboards, Jerome Arnold’s bass, and Billy Davenport’s drums. Follow the band from the slow-burning blues of “I Got a Mind to Give Up Living” and “Two Trains Running” through the extended, exploratory title track.
