Pink Floyd’s Animals (2018 Remix) presents James Guthrie’s stereo and 5.1 surround mixes on a single hybrid multichannel SACD. This Analogue Productions exclusive comes in a hardback book package with a 28-page book and slipcase.
Originally released in 1977, Animals explores the social and political conditions of mid-1970s Britain through the animal imagery of “Dogs,” “Pigs” and “Sheep.” Inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm, its dark arrangements and extended songs form a cohesive full-album listening experience.
For the 2018 remix, Guthrie sought to preserve the album’s dramatic shape while bringing renewed attention to the performances, musical interplay, dynamic range and soundstage. Follow the complete five-track sequence in stereo or explore the surround mix on a compatible multichannel SACD system.
