Sara K. — Hobo
Part of the Chesky Original Masters Series
One-Step plating and pressing on 180-gram high-definition vinyl
Fourth album for the Chesky label by the award-winning singer-songwriter
Seamlessly blending the acoustic rootsiness of folk with the harmonic subtlety of jazz, the earthy fire of the blues, and the confessional lyricism of singer/songwriter rock, Hobo is a 1997 award-winning album that showcases the genre blurring brilliance of Dallas singer-songwriter Sara K. Alongside 10 original numbers — including the poignant 'Moving Big Picture' and the gorgeously meditative title track — Sara K. covers Rodgers & Hammerstein's perennial show tune favorite "You'll Never Walk Alone," and a surprising revamp of "Brick House," The Commodores' '70s funk classic.
A version of Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well" showcases Bruce Dunlop and Hui Cox's furious fretwork alongside some breathtakingly raw acappella vocals by Sara. Another Hobo highlight is Sara's R&B-flavored duet with vocalist Matthew Andrae on the true-to-life "Oughtta Be Happy By Now." Hobo presents a stunning showcase for Sara K's unique artistry. 180-gram limited edition featuring one-step lacquer plating and pressing.
One-Step vinyl is the ultimate vinyl pressing, meaning the vinyl is pressed from the stamper made directly from the lacquer, minimizing noises and loss of details.
